Coaching
Coaching services consist of personalized training programs for each client. Everyone has so many demands on their lives today that a trial and error approach to training is a luxury most of us just do not have. First I conduct an initial consultation where we evaluate your current lifestyle and future goals to determine your training path. At this time I also have you fill out a questionnaire. I then develop a training plan for you. The plan allows you to see where you are, where you are going and how you are going to get there. On a weekly basis (Monday evenings) I post your schedule on Training Peaks. Results of training are then logged into the Training Peaks software for me to review. I also keep in contact with you via e-mail and phone conversations. Once you become one of my athletes I offer you all the knowledge and resources I have available to me. When necessary we will meet for occasional workouts or additional coaching sessions. During the summer months I offer open water swims open only to those I am coaching.

Athlete Requirements
Desire and commitment, belief in yourself, and just plain hard work. I am serious about helping athletes reach their potential and I expect and hope that anyone seeking my services wants to do that. I expect workouts as well as the training log to be completed.

Fees
Plans are $150 per month. Payment is due on the 1st or the 15th of the month. Payments can be made via Pay Pal or check. Payment for 6 months in advance will result in a free 2 week period and payment for an entire year in advance will result in one month free.

Additional individual coaching sessions in swimming, running or cycling are $40 per hour. Normally all meetings are held at the Middle Tyger YMCA in Duncan SC.

Endless Pool Use & Underwater Video
In joint cooperation Malone Coaching and Pro PT  bring state of the art Endless Pool access to the upstate. One of the only local facilities that offers an underwater video of your swim stroke. You get to swim for an hour and leave with a DVD of your stroke. There is also an underwater mirror. This is a GREAT tool to improve your stroke. Cost for people already being coached by Malone Coaching is $50, for all others it is $80. You have to schedule a time.

Coaching is recommended for the following:

  • Triathlon Training for Beginners Level 1 This is for those of you who have never competed in a triathlon before. We will cover everything you need to know to be successful during your first race, from transitions to training. This type of training can also be appropriate for people who have only done a few sprint triathlons and would like to see better results during the next year.
  • Triathlon Training for Intermediate/Advanced Level 2 This is for those of you who want to start shaving time off your PR and are really ready to dedicate yourselves to improving or completing a specific goal race, like an Ironman. Physical and mental training are both a part of this program as well as equipment evaluation. A large part of this training is based on your heart rate. A heart rate monitor is a requirement. This training plan will take you to the next level.
  • Coaching for Runners from Fitness Running to Marathons Level 3 This is your department if you just started running and are not sure what you should be doing. For beginners and advanced runners form and efficiency are addressed as well as appropriate shoes and clothing. Any runner who is looking to improve and have more fun with their running should consider this option. Individualized plans are key here to help you reach your potential.

Motivational Speaking
Appropriate for schools, community functions or business meetings. Speech topics may be requested or I can make suggestions based on the desired outcome of the meeting.
